The Throttle Rocker is a molded piece of plastic that wraps around the handgrip and allows the rider to control the throttle without having to use a firm grip. It is not a cruise control - but a tool that allows the rider to keep their hands and arms relaxed, even when riding bumpy roads. In short, I love the throttle rocker so much that I even use it during track days, to the point where I get teased for my love of the throttle rocker. The ones that do not use the rocker are the riders that haven't tried one yet.
However, quite a few people have tried these and didn't like them because they try to use them like a cruise control. They slide the rocker up so when they try to stop, the throttle is kept on by the rocker. The proper way to use this little gem is to set it so that when you are squeezing the brake, the paddle is just barely touching the heel of your hand and thus, not interfering with the contorts. Used this way and you will soon become so attached to the rocker, that like many others, you'll have a hard time riding without it.
The cost for these little guys is a whopping ten-dollars. Not too much money, but they go a long ways to alleviating rider fatigue. My favorite part about the rocker is that it keeps me relaxed on the bars. (Keith Codes Survival Reaction #2).
Some of the other reviewers claim that the Throttle Rocker can be dangerous on tight corners because it prevents the rider from fully closing the throttle. If the Rocker is simply placed in a lower position, that allows the throttle to close completely while the hand is in a relaxed position, the Throttle Rocker becomes a constant companion.
